Working With & Understanding Australia’s First People

Cultural education is integral for any organisation or individual working with and supporting Aboriginal people. This one day workshop covers a range of topics that inform both workers and community members of the concerns of First Nation people that affect the service provider’s ability to engage with and effectively deliver service to First Australian individuals, families and communities.

Working with and Understanding Australia’s First People is designed support awareness and insight into:

  • Gain awareness and mindfulness of the experiences of Aboriginal people before and after colonisation;
  • How those experiences are trans-generational and inter-generational;
  • The ongoing cultural disparity for Aboriginal people.

Using a range of mediums including interactive learning, DVDs and open discussion, this workshop challenges common beliefs and myths about what it was like, what happened and what it’s like now for First Australians.
